We're proud Simeon athletic alums from the Class of '87 who remember cheering for, and along with fellow athletes like Ben Wilson, Nick Anderson, Deon Thomas and countless others. Our love for Simeon runs deep, just as others feel for their own alma maters. It's the bond, the pride and the lifelong fellowship that remain no matter who's wearing the jersey today. Simeon Career Academy, formerly Simeon Vocational High School is a public high school in Chicago, Illinois with a rich athletic tradition. But, like many public schools, limited funding makes it difficult to provide essential equipment, uniforms, transportation and well-maintained facilities.
Founded in 2011 and restructured as a 501(c) (3) in 2019, SimeonNation exists to create lasting support for our athletes and programs. Every contribution, partnership and show of support helps keep Simeon's legacy alive and ensures future generations have the resources to succeed, on the field, in the classroom and in life.
OUR INITIATIVES
OUR IMPACT
From 2011 to 2019, SimeonNation proudly raised over $115,000 to support Simeon's athletic program, resulting in new uniforms, equipment and resources that made a real difference for our student-athletes. Through creative and unique fundraising events, we proved that when the community rallies together, great things happen.
In 2025, with new school leadership, new coaches and renewed enthusiasm, we're ready to take our mission even further. This time, we will manage every fundraiser independently, ensuring that net proceeds—after expenses—directly benefit our student-athletes, with the majority dedicated to athletic needs and a portion reserved for academic support, mentorship and the overall well-being of those we serve.
This approach allows us to act quickly, purchase products and services at better rates and bypass the spending limitations of traditional procurement processes. Our commitment is simple; respond faster, invest smarter and deliver greater impact for Simeon's student-athletes.
We know we can't do this alone. That's why we're calling on our alumni—especially those who have benefited from our efforts in the past—along with the broader Simeon family and sports fans everywhere, to join us. Together, we can ensure Simeon's athletes have the resources they need to compete, grow and thrive for years to come.
